When Giving Up on Healing is NOT an Option

Raise your hand if you’ve ever felt like giving up the Medical Medium healing protocols. Healing flares can be rough. Whether you’re experiencing extra pain, an annoying break-out, or bloating like crazy, flares can make a person feel like the healing steps you’ve taken have either stopped or aren’t working at all. Also, this lifestyle can be especially hard during the holidays, when you’re surrounded by other people sharing and eating endless candy, seasonal treats, and indulgent meals. Even though you know deep down it isn’t good for your body, the cravings are real... Oh Yeah, I’ve had those days too. I don’t try to hide the fact that things can get TOUGH. But here’s what I do when it ALL gets too much:

  1. First, take a deep breath and know that’ it’s ok. None of us are perfect, and it is good to remind ourselves of that.

  2. Revisit the Medical Medium books — any of them — or any of the free online resources or blog articles. Just re-familiarizing yourself with the wise words of Spirit via the Medical Medium can revive the passion you had when you first read them. The books are a great reminder of what you already know, but that temptation was trying to make you forget!

  3. Join one of the many Medical Medium-centric online communities. There are a ton of them on Facebook, and people just like you are going through the same thing. Even if they aren’t in the same place you are at the moment, they have been – guaranteed! They have wonderful advice and word of wisdom to share. If you’re not ready to share your story, that’s ok too. Just search a few key words in the group and you might find exactly what you’re looking for. One of my favorites group communities is “Sweet Surrender: Healing the Medical Medium Way Support Group,” which is extremely supportive and knowledgeable, but what I like most is its positive, optimistic, compassionate attitude.

  4. Talk a walk in nature and connect with Mother Earth. Breathing in fresh air, listening to the leaves rustle in the breeze, paying attention to the birds chirping, and smelling the wondrous essences that nature has to offer, can give you new perspective. While a moment ago maybe all you wanted was that piece of Halloween candy out of your child’s haul, now it doesn’t seem so desirable.

  5. Listen to your favorite music or watch one of your favorite movies. Sometimes distraction in key. By entertaining your thoughts with something else, suddenly those cravings or negative thoughts are left behind (or at least buried for a little while).

  6. Spend some quiet, calming time with a nice hot cup of tea. The tea can be another form of distraction, by concentrating on the act of brewing and sipping, but it also has a lovely ritualistic element to it. Use your tea time as a way to calm your mind and Spirit. No matter how you prepare your healing tea or where you drink it, try to do so thoughtfully, with a special awareness of the present.

  7. Take 15 minutes to cry it out. Let’s face it, the healing lifestyle is full of ups and downs, highs and lows, wins and setbacks. It’s ok to be frustrated and it is ok to allow yourself time to release your pent up emotions. Sometimes there’s nothing more cleansing than an outburst of tears to reset your mind.
